Location: Gandhigram–Botad Railway Line, Gujarat Casad Services: Heavy Steel Girder Launching, Heavy Lift Bridge Launching, Road Over Bridge Erection

Project Overview CASAD Consultants executed the heavy lift engineering and structural erection for the Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Level Crossing No. 24 on the Gandhigram–Botad Railway Line. The operation required detailed rigging design, crane stability analysis, and real-time alignment checks to position massive steel components across active tracks. Executed under tight brownfield constraints, the project balanced heavy machinery dynamics with strict rail safety parameters to ensure zero impact on continuous railway operations.

Key Technical Details

  • Span & Component Scale: Positioned 12 heavy structural steel girder leaves, each measuring 36.90 meters in length, engineered to form the primary load-bearing spine of the bridge.

  • Heavy Machinery & Rigging: Deployed a 500 MT capacity SAC5000S hydraulic crane, utilizing customized rigging schemes and ground-bearing capacity calculations to manage heavy lift dynamics within a constrained footprint.

  • Precision Erection over Live Rail: Executed the entire lift and seating process under millimeter-level tolerance controls during strictly timed railway traffic and power block windows.

Casad's Scope of Work

  • Heavy Erection & Launching Engineering: Planned and executed the launching sequence for 12 heavy structural steel girder leaves spanning 36.90 meters each across active rail lines.

  • Heavy Lift & Rigging Coordination: Designed crane positioning, rigging schemes, and load dynamics using 500-ton capacity SAC5000S mobile telescopic cranes within tight spatial corridors.

  • Tolerance & Alignment Control: Ensured millimeter-level placement accuracy and structural alignment over an active railway right-of-way under strict safety and clearance standards.

  • Constructability & Site Logistics Management: Coordinated site logistics, temporary support setups, and operational safety protocols during traffic and power block periods to avoid disruptions to railway operations.

Capabilities in Action
  • Heavy Infrastructure Construction Management: Specialized expertise in handling heavy structural steel erection and complex bridge launching over active transportation corridors.

  • Precision Crane Rigging & Heavy Lift Engineering: Advanced capability in planning high-capacity lift logistics, axle load distributions, and boom configurations for heavy-capacity cranes.

  • Brownfield Infrastructure Logistics: Proven track record of executing high-risk, time-critical infrastructure operations with zero disruption to live rail and road networks.
