Project Overview

Casad Infra Solutions was engaged to deliver a detailed Scan to BIM model to support the redevelopment of an existing facility in Torhout, Belgium. Utilizing high-resolution laser scanning data and a structured ReCap (RCP) file, our team developed a precise, data-rich 3D BIM model that accurately represents current site conditions. This model is now the foundation for design, planning, coordination, and construction decision-making throughout the facility’s transformation.


By transforming raw scan data into a coordinated BIM model, Casad delivered a powerful digital asset that enhances every stage of the redevelopment lifecycle—from concept to construction. This project demonstrates Casad’s strength in integrating reality capture with BIM expertise to drive informed, efficient design outcomes for international clients.



Casad's Scope of Work

1. Data Preparation and Integration

  • Imported and registered point cloud data from RCP format into Autodesk Revit.

  • Aligned scan data with project coordinates and established modeling reference planes.

  • Evaluated scan density and quality to ensure modeling accuracy.

2. BIM Model Development

  • Developed an architectural and structural 3D Revit model at LOD 350, based on point cloud inputs.

  • Modeled all visible components: walls, slabs, ceilings, staircases, columns, beams, and openings (doors/windows).

  • Ensured model accuracy and spatial fidelity through continual referencing of the point cloud.

3. Quality Assurance & Coordination

  • Conducted clash detection and integrity checks using Navisworks.

  • Delivered a fully coordinated model suitable for direct use in design development and coordination workflows.
