Casad Services: Detailed Design Services for Launching Girder

Project Overview This project involves providing specialized Detailed Design Services for the Launching Girder used in the construction of the Surat Metro Project. The Launching Girder is a critical, large-scale piece of temporary equipment essential for erecting the pre-cast segments of the elevated metro viaduct. With an associated project cost of 702 crores, this work supports the rapid and efficient construction of the metro rail line for the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.

Casad's Scope of Work CASAD's role was highly specialized, focusing entirely on the technical design documentation for this complex piece of construction equipment.

  • Detailed Design Services: Provided the complete and intricate design services specifically for the Launching Girder.

  • Structural and Mechanical Design: Ensured the design of the girder's truss, bogies, lifting mechanisms, and movement systems was structurally sound, safe, and met all operational parameters for the varying spans.

  • Compliance: Ensured the design met the necessary safety factors and temporary works standards required for heavy metro construction.

Capabilities in Action

This project demonstrates CASAD's unique capabilities in designing highly specialized, heavy construction equipment for major infrastructure projects.

  • Temporary Works Engineering: Proven expertise in the detailed structural and mechanical design of large-scale temporary structures like Launching Girders.

  • Metro Viaduct Support: Successfully provided critical design support for a high-value urban metro project, facilitating accelerated construction timelines.

  • Varying Span Accommodation: Demonstrated technical ability to design a single piece of equipment capable of efficiently handling multiple, different viaduct span lengths (25 m to 35 m).
