Project Overview This extensive project, executed on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) basis, involves the doubling of the railway line between Rajkot and Kanalus (km. 111.20) within the Rajkot Division. With a substantial project cost of 1080.58 Crore, this critical initiative by Western Railway aims to significantly enhance railway capacity, improve operational efficiency, and facilitate smoother rail traffic. The project also includes essential PBR Yard remodeling, ensuring a modern and robust rail infrastructure.



Casad's Scope of Work Our comprehensive scope of work for this crucial railway doubling project spanned from detailed design to specialized reports and ancillary structure designs.
  • Bridge Design & Documentation:

    • Preparation of detailed hydraulic reports and General Arrangement Drawings (GADs).

    • Detailed design and working drawings for a total of 27 bridges, including all Major and Important Bridges (PSC U-Slab, PSC U-Girder, Composite Girder) and Minor Bridges.

    • Designs for both Open and Pile type foundations were included, accommodating RDSO and non-standard superstructures.

  • Specialized Reports:

    • Preparation of Rail Structure Interaction (RSI) reports for all Major and Important Bridges, a critical aspect for railway bridge stability and performance.

  • Ancillary Structures:

    • Preparation of detailed GADs and design drawings for 6 Foot Over Bridges (FOBs).

    • Design of various types of staff quarters and station buildings at different railway stations.

    • Detailed design drawings for all 22 Minor Bridges.
