Project Overview

The Railway Over Bridge at Pramukh Park in Surat was developed under the authority of the Surat Municipal Corporation to enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the region. The project was executed by Valecha Engineering Ltd., Mumbai, with a total project cost of ₹82.57 crore.

The bridge has a total length of 1207.23 meters and a width of 23.06 meters, constructed with PSC girder superstructure and RCC pier substructure, ensuring durability and stability. This modern infrastructure project provides a crucial link for the city, improving transportation efficiency and commuter safety.

Casad's Scope of Work

CASAD is responsible for delivering detailed engineering and design solutions, including:

• Site Development and Preparation

  • Clearing, excavation, and preparation of the alignment on a 45.0 m wide road near Pramukh Park society, connecting the Bhedwad and Dindoli areas.

  • Establishment of access roads and temporary works to facilitate construction.

• Bridge Construction

  • Construction of a six-lane Railway Over Bridge with a total length of 1207.23 meters and width of 23.06 meters.

  • Execution of RCC pile foundation (1000 mm dia.) for stable load-bearing capacity.

  • Development of RCC piers and pier caps for the substructure.

  • Construction of the superstructure using PSC girders in the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) portion and composite structures in the railway portion.

  • Execution of 31 spans: 26 spans in the SMC portion and 5 spans in the Railway portion.

• Approaches and Returns

  • Construction of RCC approach roads and returns:

    • 168 m length towards the Bhedwad side.

    • 135 m length towards the Dindoli side.

• Carriageway and Roadwork

  • Development of dual carriageways (2 x 10.50 m).

  • Integration of road markings, drainage, and safety features.

• Consultancy and Design Supervision

  • Structural design and consultancy by Casad Consultant Pvt. Ltd., Ahmedabad.

  • Proof checking by R & B Design Circle, Gandhinagar.

  • Project management and supervision during construction.
